A Little Bit of Club Manly History

Club Manly Committee was formed in 1954 and work on the Green and Club commenced and 2022 sees us in our 68th year, we are located about 20 minutes drive from the Brisbane CBD in the seaside suburb of Manly.

The first bowl on the top green was rolled in June 1955. The club was officially opened in November 1956 and the club house now standing opened in 1975 In 2020 we celebrated 45 years.

Club Manly formerly known as the Manly Bowls Club has seen many changes in its rich history but the game changer came in 2013 when we had a wide span all weather structure erected over our bottom green and artificial turf laid on both of our greens.

This structure allows our bowlers to be very comfortable in the summer months and means that the typical Brisbane summer rains no longer stop us from enjoying a roll up.

in 2017 we finished installing the second  wide span structure erected over our top green and our club house is having a face lift as well with improvements to our kitchen, dinning and entertainment areas and significant alterations to the outside of the club house. Our function room was painted in June/July 2018 and we have just installed a new Data Projector and Screen in function room on the stage. We also moved the entrance to Male toilet in the Function room. We are currently upgrading lighting in bar and dinning room. The bar area will be painted soon so we get a fresh look throughout the club,

Our club is fully air conditioned and offers competition bowls, bare foot bowls, BBQ area for hire, function room for hire, Bistro Open for dinner on Thursday and Friday Nights . We have live entertainment on Friday nights, Open for lunches coffee and cakes Wednesday, Friday and  Saturday's, secure over night car parking, full bar facilities, big screen TV's, Keno, pokies, ATM and our club is wheel chair friendly.

Club Manly has a fantastic family atmosphere catering for all ages, so wether you simply want to drop in for a coldie or bring the whole family along you can be sure that you will find a relaxed and friendly environment for all.
